CAIRO – 14 October 2017: Lyon’s attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir led his team to defeat Monaco 3-2 on Friday at Parc Olympique Lyonnais in the opening game of the 9th fixture at the French League.

The game started very well for Monaco, which got an advantage of the massive support from its fans to score its first goal after 11 minutes by Mariano Diaz after a great cross from Nebil Fekir.

Monaco scored the equalizing goal only six minutes later by Rony Lopes after a great pass from Keita Baldé.

Nabil Fekir scored the second goal for Lyon at the 23rd minute after a shot from inside Monaco’s area, but the latter managed to equalize the score again by Adama Traore’s strike in the 34th minute to end the first half 2-2.

Both teams tried to score the winning goal at the second half, but they failed until Nabil Fekir stood up to grant the three points to Lyon when he scored from a free kick seconds before the final whistle to lead Lyon to a 3-2 victory.

After the victory, Lyon jumped to third place with 16 points, while Monaco remained in second place with 19 points.
