CAIRO – 10 October 2017: Australian national team manager Ange Postecoglou revealed on Monday that he is so happy to coach the Australian National Team.

“It’s an absolute privilege and honor to coach your country. I’ve coached my nation for 11 years,” Postecoglou told press on Monday.

Meanwhile, Australia will face Syria on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. (Cairo Local Time) in the second leg of the Asia play-offs for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in Stadium Australia, Sydney.

Postecoglou spoke about the game, saying, “What we know is if we win tomorrow night, we’ll be through to the next round. Our objective is to play our football – we want to be aggressive, attacking, take it to the opposition and test them, and that’s what we’ll do.”

Australia depends on their veterans Tim Cahill, Mark Milligan and Aaron Mooy to beat Syria, who is missing five key players, as Ahmad Al-Salih and Omar Midani are out for injury, while the defender Hadi Al Masri, the midfielder Khaled Mobayed and the striker Omar Khribin are out due to suspension.

The first leg ended with a 1-1 draw after Omar El-Souma scored the equalizer for the Syrian team from a penalty minutes before the final whistle, following Australia having taken the lead in the 38th minute with a goal by Robbie Kruse.
