CAIRO –09 October 2017: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang conceded reluctantly about the defeat of Gabon in Morocco by 3-0 on Saturday. The match left his team without any option of going to the 2018 World Cup. He insinuated that the players of his team suffered indigestion before the game because of morning orange juice.

Aubameyang, Borussia Dortmund striker and captain of the Gabonese national team, said through his Twitter account that half of his teammates played the game badly because of orange juice ingested hours before the match against Morocco in Casablanca. Denis Bouanga, Lorient striker and Aubameyang`s teammate, confirmed the complaint.

Aubameyang official account on twitter:

Medhi Benatia, defender of Morocco, replied by means of a video certainly disagreeing with Aubameyang, who maintained that what happened before the encounter had a direct effect on their (Gabon’s) removal from the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Now, with a final day to finish the qualifying mission in group C, Morocco is leading with 9 points, followed by Côte d'Ivoire with 8 points and, without options, Gabon with 5 points, followed by Mali with 3. Côte d'Ivoire and Morocco will go head to head on November 6, with the winner moving on to the World Cup.
