CAIRO – 8 October 2017 – The national team of Rugby Sevens won the silver medal of the Arab Championship held in Jordan in October, in the first international participation of Egypt after establishing the Egyptian federation for the game, headed by Hossam Sahib, last July.

Egypt lost 17-0 to Morocco in the final, losing the gold medal in the match refereed by Egyptian referee Amr Metwally, the best Arab referee, Super Kora reported.

The team will return to Egypt with the silver medal on Sunday morning from Jordan, after Egypt's first international participation in a Rugby championship. The tournament was held in Jordan with the participation of eight teams: UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Palestine, Morocco and Iraq.

The national team includes Yousri Sami (Captain), Ahmed Saafan, Ahmed Khamis, Marwan Ahmed, Mahmoud Suleiman, Ahmed Hatem, Mohammed Khaled, Farogan, Mohamed Alatrabi, Ahmed Hossam, Saif Al Ashri and Mahmoud Naji, according to Super Kora.
