CAIRO – 6 October 2017: Marco Reus, German international player of Borussia Dortmund, has reported in an interview granted to the German edition of the magazine, GQ, his ordeal with injuries, which have mortgaged much of his football career.

Reus, 28, has not had continuity in recent seasons due to injuries. In the last three years, the Borussia Dortmund player has suffered ten injuries that have caused him to miss 71 games with his team.

Since the end of May, Reus has been discharged because of a partial rupture of the cruciate ligament of the left knee and his re-appearance is scheduled for early 2018.

"The players make a lot of money but we have to pay a high price for being fit. I would now give all my money to be healthy to do my job, to do what I love, that is to play football," Reus said to the magazine GQ.

The injury dilemma began for Reus at the gates of the 2014 World Cup when he ruptured his ankle ligaments in a friendly match with the German national team.

"I cried in that moment and then, two or three days later, I cried again," he acknowledged. "In the end, even if you have support, you are alone during your rehabilitation, that is what consumes me the most," added the player.
