CAIRO - 5 October 2017 : Real Madrid defender, José Ignacio Iglesias, better known as Nacho, revealed on Wednesday that he wants to retire from playing football at Real Madrid.

“I am very happy here and I wish I could retire in a Real Madrid jersey," Nacho told Marca.

Nacho is 27 years old and a product of Real Madrid Academy. He joined the club when he was just 11, and since then he has never worn a jersey other than Real Madrid’s.

Nacho added, “I always love to play in the [Estadio Santiago] Bernabeu, but I understand I have to play in all of Spain."

Nacho spoke about his teammate in the national team, Gerard Pique’s hard situation on the Spanish national team saying, “It's very uncomfortable to train and play between whistles.”

Many people in Spain asked for the removal of Pique from the Spanish national team after he declared his support for Catalonian independence. He insulted the Spanish prime minister and the Spanish police.
