CAIRO – 28 September 2017: Egyptian national team coach Osama Nabih confirmed that promising players would join the team but not now.

Hector Cuper, the team’s manager, depends on a certain group of players, and there are a few or no new players that will join the team before Congo's 2018 World Cup qualifier next month.

“Whoever is well and fit will join the national team but not now. The next period will see two crucial matches in the World Cup qualifiers, and the time is very tight,” said Nabih.

The Egyptian team will host the Congolese team on October 8 in the fifth round of the qualifiers, before traveling to Ghana in mid-November for the last round.

“The players will not join because of the media pressure, but we need them,” Nabih said.

Egypt leads Group E with 9 points, Uganda with 7, Ghana with 5, and Congo with 1.

To secure their place in the next World Cup, the Pharaohs must beat Congo, with Uganda drawing or losing to Ghana.
