CAIRO – 25 September 2017: The Minister of Youth and Sports, Khaled Abdel Aziz, will honor a number of Egyptian champions on Tuesday for their great efforts and results in various sports.

Abdel Aziz will honor the U23 and U19 volleyball national teams, in addition to the U19 taekwondo national team, and the Egyptian swimmer Omar Hegazy, on Tuesday 6 p.m. at a hotel in Cairo International airport.

The minister will honor Egyptian players after the U23 volleyball team won fifth place at the World Championship held in Cairo International stadium from August 18 to 25, while the U19 volleyball team won sixth place at the World Championship hosted by Bahrain from August 18 to 25 as well.

The taekwondo national team won six medals in the U19 Taekwondo World Championships held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt from August 24 to 28. Hegazy, a swimmer with a disability, will be honored for achieving a new record by crossing the Gulf of Aqaba from, Egypt to Aqaba, Jordan. The 10 kilometer swim took eight hours.
