CAIRO -12 September 2017: President of the Syrian Football Association Salah Eddin Ramadan confirmed on Tuesday that Malaysia will host the 2018 World Cup qualifying match between Syria and Australia on October 5, 2017, according to French press.

The Syrian Football Association has chosen Malaysia for the 2018 World Cup qualifying match against Australia instead of Syria due to the security crisis that Syria is suffering from.

The next match will witness two match Asian series as the winner of Syria – Australia world cup Qualifying match has to beat Concacaf confederation (North and central America and Caribbean).

The equalizing match between Syria and Iran on September 5 gave Syria hope for reaching the 2018 World Cup for the first time among the ongoing war. Syrian national player Omar Al Soma had equalized the match 2-2 in his first return after a five-year absence.

It seems that the 2018 Russia World Cup will draw a noticeable joy in parts of a country that is suffering from six years of war.
