Egypt participates in U23 Women’s Volleyball World Championship

CAIRO– 9 September 2017: The Egyptian national women’s U23 volleyball team will take part in the U23 Volleyball World Championship held in Slovenia from September 10 to 17.

The national team will start its journey at the Volleyball World Championship with their match against the Dominican team at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, then the team will face China Monday evening. The third match will be at 8 p.m.on Tuesday against Thailand, then Egypt will face Argentina on Wednesday at 2 p.m., before concluding the first stage of the tournament playing against Slovenia Thursday evening.

The team includes 12 players: Farida Al Asqalani (Al Ahly), Aya Al Shami (Al Ahly), Rahma Hassan (Al Ahly), Mariam Mustafa (Al Ahly), Nour Yassin (Al Ahly),Doaa Mohamed (Zamalek), Mariem Tharwat (Al Shams), Alaa Hamdy (SMouha), Sara Amin (Al Shams), Lina Tariq (Sporting), Aya Khalid (Al Shams) and Doaa Ghobashy (Al Shams).

Egypt is playing in group A alongside Argentina, China, the Dominican Republic, Slovenia and Thailand, while group B includes Brazil, Bulgaria, Cuba, Japan, Kenya and Turkey.
