Egyptians dominate China Squash Open Semifinals

CAIRO - 1 September 2017: Five Egyptian players have qualified for the semifinals of the men and women's China Squash Open 2017.

On the men's level, Ramy Ashour, who is returning from injury, continued his victories after beating the English Daryl Selby 3-0 (11-6, 11-3, 11-5) despite falling out of the top 10 in September’s world ranking.

Marwan El Shorbagy managed to beat the German Simon Rosner (3-0) as well. Ali Farag won his quarter final match with the same score against the Peruvian Diego Elias (12-10, 12-10, 11-5).

While Fares Dessouky failed to join his fellow citizens to create a fully-Egyptian semifinal after he had lost 0-3 to New Zealand's Paul Coll.

Meanwhile In the women's competition, the world number one Nour El Sherbini won an easy win over Alison Waters in the quarter final match with three clean sets (11-4, 11-7, 11-6). Nouran Gohar succeded in defeating her teammate Nour El Tayeb with a 3-0 victory (11-3, 11-6, 11-6).

The five Egyptians will play their China Squash Open semifinals on Saturday. The match times will be as follows:

Nour Gohar VS Camille Serme(French). (12:30 p.m.)

Ramy Ashour VS Marwan Al-Shorbagi (1:30 p.m.)

Nour El Sherbini VS Joelle King(New Zealand) (2:30 p.m.).

Ali Farag VS Paul Coll (New Zealand) (3:30 p.m.).
