31 August: Egyptian National team manager, Hector Cuper refused to handle the responsibility of the loss against Uganda at 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Thursday to his players.

“We still have 9 points to fight for and we still have chances to qualify to the World Cup” Cuper told press after the game.

Cuper added “We tried to change the formation many times during the game but we failed.”

Cuper spoke about the criticism against some Egyptian players, he said “Media are criticizing the players just because we lost, if we had won no one would talk about the players’ performance.”

Asked about the performance of Mahmoud Abdel Monem known as Kahraba, Cuper answered “ Kahraba is an important player, he can do a damage to the opponent defense, I don’t regret my decision to play him as a striker with Mohamed Salah.”

Egypt lost 1-0 to Uganda on Thursday, both teams will meet again on Tuesday at “Borg El Arab “ Stadium in Alexandria.
