29 August 2017: Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos asks Madrid fans not to boo Barcelona defender Gerard Pique in the decisive game between Spain and Italy at the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in Madrid.

“To Pique or to anybody else, you must always respect the players. I ask the fans to support us; it will be a tense and difficult match. We want to perform well and play a good game," Ramos told press on Monday.

Gerard Pique always receives an unfriendly welcome from fans when he plays with the national team because of his support for Catalan independence. He is expected to a have an offensive one this game, as the match will be held in Real Madrid Stadium.

Pique and Ramos had a lot of clashes between each other, as both players defend the colors of Spain’s biggest teams.

Ramos spoke about David Villa’s return to the Spanish national team after his great performance in the USA League “MLS”. He said “I think it surprised us all, but it is well received; he still has a young spirit and always wants to score goals."

Spain faces Italy on Saturday in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
