CAIRO – 28 August 2017: The trio Mohamed Abdel Shafi, Sam Morsi, and Mohamed El Nenny joined the national team camp in Borg Al Arab. They are preparing for Uganda's matches in the qualifiers for the Russian 2018 World Cup.

The trio will practice and train with the rest of the national team as scheduled on Monday evening at the sub-pitch of Borg El Arab stadium.

Ehab Lahita, the national team manager, said that the rest of the players who play abroad will arrive in Egypt on Monday to join the training camp. He added that the team will train Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and take off for Kampala, Uganda at 2:30 p.m. Cairo local time.
Egypt leads the groups with 6 points after 2 matches; Uganda comes second with 4 points, Ghana third with one point, and Congo in the last place with no points.

Our national team has a good chance to achieve a qualifying place for the World Cup if they managed to win the next two matches against Uganda. Those matches are scheduled for August 31 and September 5. Egypt will go head to head against Congo in Egypt and a match against Ghana in Ghana.
