CAIRO – 25 August 2017: Arsene Wenger, Arsenal’s manager, spoke on August 24 ahead of Arsenal’s next game in the English Premier League against Liverpool on August 27.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Wenger talked about the availability of Arsenal’s star play Alexis Sanchez in the next game. He also addressed the importance of having Sanchez in the team.

Wenger said, “Overall Sanchez is in good shape. He has always been focused on his job. I do not think he is disturbed too much by all the noise; players at that level are used to it. Some deal with it better than others,” citing from Sky Sports.

Wenger added, "He is very focused, very happy. It does not mean there is no chance to extend his contract, though we have not managed to do it. We just want to focus as a team and not look too much at individual contracts,” according to Sky Sports.
Sanchez’s contract will end by the end of this season. Therefore, Arsenal’s officials are trying to extend it.

Wenger concluded, “Alexis works very hard, gives so much and he looks ready. I will have to decide what to do but he is ready to play,” reporting from Sky Sports.

"I want Sanchez to stay. He is one of the players the team can be built around, I want him to commit and be one of the carriers of the values of this team.”

Arsenal will face Liverpool in Liverpool’s stadium, Anfield stadium, in the upcoming game in the League. Arsenal was able to start the season with a precious 4-3 victory against Leicester City before losing 1-0 from Stoke City in the second game of the league.
