CAIRO – 24 August 2017: Al Raed Saudi football club announced on its Twitter account its new player, Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala, on Thursday morning.

Al Raed posted on Twitter that the administration of Zamalek SC has accepted the offer presented by Al Raed a few weeks ago which was a request to have Zamalek's star join their club in a loan transfer for one year, and Zamalek’s acceptance came officially in written form on the presented offer.

Shikabala’s loan transfer contract is expected to be signed on Thursday evening in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in the presence of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Saudi club, Abdelrahman al- Ayed, and a representative of Zamalek in addition to Shikabala.

The 31-year-old, who scored 54 goals in 256 games in the white jersey, has decided to leave the team in the 2017/2018 season after a tense relationship with Zamalek's President, Mortada Mansour, who has said in more than one occasion that he will leave.

Shikabala will be the sixth Egyptian in the Saudi league this season alongside Mostafa Fathi and Essam al-Hadari in Al Taawoun FC, Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim "Kahraba" in Ittihad Jeddah, Mohamed Abdul Shafy in Ahli Jeddah, and Hossam Ghali in Al-Nasr.
