CAIRO – 23 August 2017: The Egyptian wrestler Samar Hamza lost in her first match on August 23 in the World Wrestling Championships that is held in France.

Hamza lost her first match against the champion of India with a 6-1 score in the World Wrestling Championships. With this result, Hamza will have to wait for the upcoming matches for India’s champion. If the Indian champion reaches the finals, Hamza might continue playing in the competition if she playsa deciding match first that will determine whether she is able to resume her journey in the tournament.

On a similar note, Egyptian Greco-Roman wrestler, Abdel-latif Mohamed finished 10th at the Wrestling World Championships on August 22. Mohamed lost in the 16th round to Georgian wrestler Levan Arabuli.

Egypt is represented in the World Championships by the following players: Diaa Gouda, Ahmed Othman, Abdel-latif Mohamed Ahmed, Abo Halima Mohamed, Ibrahim El Wensh, Ahmed Ibrahim, Samar Amer Hamza.

The Wrestling World Championships is held in France from August 21 to August 26.
