CAIRO – 20 August 2017: The organizing committee and the Ministry of Sports decided to make the entrance free for the U23 Volleyball World Championship.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Khaled Abdul Aziz made the decision in agreement with the Supreme Organizing Committee of the World Junior Volleyball Championship under 23. The World Junior Volleyball Championship is headed by Fouad Abdel Salam, president of the Egyptian Volleyball Federation. The tournament started on August 18 and will last until August 25 at the covered halls complex of Cairo International Stadium.

The decision came after noticing the weak presence of spectators in the first two rounds of the World Championship.

The national team led by Brazilian coach Marcos Miranda defeated Japan in the first round then lost to Cuba in the second round. The Egyptian youth team will play against Brazil on Sunday at 8:00 p.m. in the third round of the tournament.
