CAIRO –19 August 2017: After scoring Real Madrid’s third goal against FC Barcelona, Marco Asensio became the first player ever for any team to score in his debut in five different tournaments.

While Asensio was able to score 10 goals in a total of 38 games in his first season with European giants Real Madrid, the youngster was also able to score a goal in his debut in five different tournaments with Real Madrid.

Asensio started his journey with Real Madrid by scoring on August 2016 in the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla, helping Madrid win the tournament after beating Sevilla FC with a 3-2 score.

Asensio’s second debut with Los Blancos (Real Madrid) was in the La Liga (Spanish League). In that match, Asensio took the spotlight by scoring Madrid’s second goal in the game in beautiful way. The second debut marked the second goal with Madrid in an official match.

October 18, 2016 marked Asensio’s third debut, and this time it was in the Champions League. Real Madrid was facing Legia Warsaw in Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Asensio continued to hit the ground running by showing the world his talent. He was able to hit the ball in the back of the net on his third debut with Real Madrid after receiving a pass from Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

After one week, Real Madrid manager Zidane placed Asensio in the starting lineup against La Cultural y Deportivo Leonesa, allowing Madrid’s youngster to make his debut in the Copa del Rey. As usual, Asensio did the thing he enjoys the most and scored the fourth goal in his fourth debut.

On August 14, 2017, Asensio made his debut in the Spanish Super Cup after entering El Classico’s FC Barcelona vs. Real Madrid CF match in the second half. Asensio didn’t miss the opportunity to make it five out of five, becoming the first player ever to score in his debut in five different tournaments.

Asensio is now waiting until December, when Madrid will play in the Club World Cup, to make it six out of six.
