CAIRO –18 August 2017: The U23 Volleyball World Championship will start tonight at the Cairo international stadium and will extend to August 25.

The under 23 years old volleyball team, led by Brazilian coach Marcos Miranda, will open the Volleyball World Championship, which will be hosted by Egypt from August 18 to 25 at the covered halls complex of Cairo International Stadium against Japan on Friday evening.

6 matches will be played at the first day of the championship as Brazil faces Mexico and Turkey faces China at 2:30 Cairo local time, then at 5 p.m. Cuba faces Poland and Russia play against Algeria. At 8 p.m. the opening ceremony of the championship will be held followed by Egypt’s match against Japan at 9:00 p.m. and Argentina will play with Iran.

Twelve teams participate in the Egyptian Volleyball World Championship which are Egypt, Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Korea, Mexico, Iran, Japan, Poland, Russia, Turkey and China, the pharaohs are playing in group A which includes Brazil, Cuba, Japan, Poland and Mexico.

The Pharaohs will meet Japan in the opening match at 9 p.m., meet Cuba at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Brazil on Sunday, Mexico on Monday and end the first round against Poland on Wednesday at the same time.
