CAIRO – 16 August 2017: Most footballers are remembered in the history of football for their talent, skill, and character on the field. However, there are a few footballers who will not be forgotten due to their unique haircuts.

Carlos Valderrema paved the way for unique hairstyles. Other players like defender David Luiz and Manchester United’s midfielder Marouane Fellaini imitated his style. Fifty-five-year Valerrema grabbed the attention of football fans by having a long yellow hair all over his head. There was also the Nigerian International defender Taribo West. He was known mainly for his unique haircut.

West was known for having green dreadlocks that stretched down from the middle of his head. West’s hair was not the only thing that was unusual. His age was also something that grabbed the attention of football spectators. Many people believed that he looked older than his age. The 43-year-old defender retired at 2007. During his 12 years career he played 12 clubs throughout his whole career.

Lastly, Inter Milan’s striker Rodrigo Palacio is notorious for his unique rat tail haircut. Palacio was voted by the fans to have one of the worst yet unique hairstyle during the 2014 World Cup. He appeared three times with Argentina. Palacio played for Genoa before transferring to Inter Milan. There he claimed that he would remove the rat trail if Inter Milan won the Seria A (Italian League).

In modern football, the hairstyle has become very important to the players. We see players like: Manchester United’s midfielder Paul Pogba, Real Madrid’s left back Marcelo, and Paris Saint-Germain’s winger Neymar steal the show with their performances along with their new hairstyles.
