CAIRO – 16 August 2017: With the unbelievable prices of the players during this transfer window, Egypt Today decided to look at most expensive formation of the Egyptian players.

The formation selected has the price of the actual value of the player and not the transfer price of the player.

According to transfer markt, the following formation consists of the players with the highest market value:

Goalkeeper: Ahmed El Shenawy (Zamalek SC) €1.8 million ($2.1 million).

Defenders: Omar Gaber (FC Basel) €1.25 million, Ali Gabr (Zamalek SC) €1 million, Ahmed Hegazi (West Bromwich Albion) €1.5 million, Mohamed Abdelshafi (Ahli Jeda) €1.5 million.

Midfielders: Mohamed El Neny (Arsenal) €10 million, Saleh Gomaa (Al Ahly SC) €1 million.

Attackers: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool FC) €35 million, Amr Warda (C.D. Feirense) €1.25 million, Ramadan Sobhi (Stoke City FC) €5 million.

Striker: Ahmed Hassan Koka (Sporting Braga) €3 million

Only 3 players in this formation play in the Egyptian League: Ahmed El Shenawy and Ali Gabr play for Zamalek SC, and Saleh Gomaa plays for Al Ahly SC.

Ahmed el-Mohamady costs €4 million, but transfer market did not place him in the right back position. Mohamady is considered to be a right wing back, according to transfermarkt.

Also, Ittihad Jeda’s attackers costs €2.2 million. If we add Kahraba and Mohamady in the lineup instead of Omar Gaber and Amr Warda (least market value in the attacking players) then the cost of the formation will cost €68.5 million!
