CAIRO – 14 August 2017 – Egypt’s national U-19 handball team qualified for the round of 16 of the 2017 Handball Men’s Youth World Championship held in Georgia from August 8-20 after beating Bahrain 37-25 on Sunday in the fourth round of the first stage.

The first half ended with Egypt advancing 19-10, before Egypt expanded the gap in the second half, winning 37-25.

In the first game against Denmark, the team had a 28-28 draw, before winnig the second game against Sweden 26-24 and losing to France in the third match 36-39.

Egypt will play its last match of the first stage against Norway on Monday after securing its seat for the stage of 16 by temporarily occupying the second place of group A with 5 points.

Egypt is in group A in the Handball World Championship, alongside France, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Bahrain.
