CAIRO – 13 August 2017 – Manchester United started the Premier League by defeating West Ham United with four goals with no reply at Old Trafford Stadium on Sunday.

Manchester United started strongly this season, after the team occupied the sixth position in the last season’s final standings, as the team managed to maintain the first three points with a clear victory, without conceding any goals. The team won over West Ham United 4-0.

New signing Romelu Lukaku, who joined Manchester in the current transfer market from Everton, started the scoring in the 33rd minute of the game with his left foot after he received an assist from the young talent, Marcus Rashford. The Belgian striker Lukaku returned to score another time in his first Premier League appearance with the red shirt of Manchester United in the 53rd minute of the game with a cross from Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Jose Mourinho, the head coach of Manchester, made a substitution in the 80th minute of the game, as he replaced Rashford with another young talent, Anthony Martial, who quickly assured that Mourinho made the right decision, as Martial scored a goal only 7 minutes after he entered the pitch, in the 87th minute of the game, and made an assist for the fourth goal for the team in the 90th minute, which was scored by superstar Paul Pogba.

With this result, Manchester United occupies the first place of the Premier League table because of the goal difference.
