CAIRO – 8 August 2017: The national youth handball team, led by Coach Bassem al-Sobki, started its path in the World Championship held in Georgia from August 8 to 20 with a 29-28 loss to Denmark on Tuesday morning.

The first half ended with Denmark advancing 16-12, before Egypt narrowed the gap in the second half to 29-28.

Egypt is in group A and will play the second game against Sweden at 6 p.m. on Thursday August 10, then France on August 11, Bahrain on August 13 and conclude the first round against Norway on August 14.

The players include: Abdel Rahman Taha, Mohamed Emad, Ahmed Rady, Jalal Khorshid, Shehab Abdullah, Khaled Waleed, Omar Hanafi, Khaled Essam, Abdel Aziz Ehab, Mohsen Ramadan, Hazem Mamdouh, Ahmed Hany, Mohamed Zein, Omar Samy, Omar Khaled and Mo'men Mohamed.

The Egyptian delegation is headed by Hesham Nasr, board member of the Handball Association, Bassem al-Sobki as head coach, Mohamed Abdel Rahman as coach.
