CAIRO – 6 August 2017: Usain Bolt took place in the 100-meter at the World Championships in Athletics final in London on Saturday. However, he faced some difficult moments against American runner Christian Coleman, who defeated him in the semi-finals.

The Jamaican sprinter was seeking his fourth gold medal in that race before retiring next week. He was the best of the qualifiers, but his start looked bad in comparison to Coleman’s start.

Coleman, the world’s fastest man of the year with a time of 9.92 seconds, continued the pressure and crossed the finish line first in 9.97 seconds. Bolt had much to do to reduce the gap.

Bolt had slowed his pace in the final steps. Although it’s just a semi-final race, he will not be happy not to reach the finish line first in the 100-meter for the first time in four years.
He scored 9.98 seconds, the second fastest record of the day, but the scoreboard initially showed Bahrain’s Andrew Fisher in second place, while Bolt was not among the top six.

Usain St. Leo "Lightning" Bolt is a Jamaican sprinter and currently the fastest human in the world. He is the first person to hold both the 100-metre and 200-metre world records since fully automatic time became mandatory.

Argentine Paulo Bruno Exequiel Dybal, the forward of Italian club Juventus and the Argentina national team, said on his official Twitter account, mentioning Bolt, “You made millions of fans happy and smiling, being an example for everyone: thank you.”
