CAIRO – 5 August 2017: The German coach Bernd Schuster and former Real Madrid manager, was presented to Zamalek board member Ahmed Mortada Mansour, to take charge of the white team during the coming period.

Zamalek agents contacted Schuster to present the offer to him with the hopes of entering into official negotiations. However, the agent was surprised by the German coach's response that he did not want to work in Egypt.

Zamalek's board of directors has received a large number of foreign coaches' biographies. The board needs to choose a new coach after the departure of Portuguese Augusto Inacio. However, former Anderlecht coach Franky Vercauteren is the closest to lead the team after the end of the Egyptian Cup. Currently, Tariq Yahya is the coach for Zamalek.
