CAIRO – 4 August 2017: The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced on its official website on Thursday the schedule for the Men’s Under-23 (U23) Volleyball World Championship held in Cairo from August 18-26.

After Egypt had had hosted the 2001 Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship, it will host the Volleyball Championship for the U23 national teams. Held in the Covered Halls Complex of the Cairo International Stadium, which is currently being prepared with new flooring ahead of the tournament, the matches include the participation of 12 teams from all over the world.

The tournament will start its first day with 6 matches divided between halls 1 and 2; the first two matches at 2:30 p.m. see Brazil vs. Mexico (hall 1) and Turkey against China (hall 2) followed by the Cuba-Poland and Russia-Algeria matches at 5 p.m.

The opening ceremony will be held after the second matches of the day, with the final matches of the day at 9 p.m. between Argentina and Iran in hall 2 and Egypt vs. Japan in hall 1.
