CAIRO – 3 August 2017: ON Sport succeeded in obtaining the broadcasting rights of the World Championships in Athletics, which will be held in London from August 4-13.

As part of developing ON Sport channel’s content, the network channel has succeeded in obtaining the rights to broadcast the World Championships in Athletics held in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and it will be the biggest global sporting event of the year.

The championship will be the 16th edition since the first tournament hosted in Helsinki, Poland in 1983. The last championship, held in Beijing, China in August 2015, witnessed the participation of 1,931 athletes from 207 national federations all over the world. Kenya was the surprise of Beijing’s championships, as it topped the medal table for the first time in its history, winning 16 medals, with seven of them being gold.

The 2017 London World Athletics Championships will witness the unbeatable exit of Usain Bolt, the world’s fastest man.
