Volleyball World Cup committee invites Sisi to the opening

CAIRO – 1 August 2017: The Supreme Organizing Committee of the FIVB U-23 Volleyball World Cup which will be hosted by Cairo August 16-26, has invited President Abdel Fattah al- Sisi to attend the opening ceremony of the tournament.

Fouad Abdel Salam chairman of the Organizing Committee said that he is waiting for the president’s response to the invitation and hopes the president would accept to attend, to serve as a strong supporter of the players and the coaching staff to provide their best in the games, and to feel the responsibility entrusted to them and the importance of the tournament they’re participating in.

Abdel Salam stressed in a statement to Super Kora the committee’s readiness to present the championship in the best manner and convey a message to the world that Egypt is a country of safety and security.

“We can organize any sporting event whatever its size, and carry it out in a manner that suits Egypt's name and its leadership on the Arab and African levels,”Abdel Salam said.

Referring to the hard work the committee is making to to capitalize on the event in all ways and in all fields, Abdel Salam said “it is not just a sporting event, but it is a speech to all the peoples of the world that Egypt can do anything.” .
