CAIRO – 1 August 2017: Zamalek's board of directors, headed by Mortada Mansour succeeded to renew the handball star Ahmad Al Ahmar for two years to support the team's list next season.

This came during a meeting held on Monday evening at the club's headquarters and was attended by Mortada Mansour the club's president, Rehab Abu Rajaila board member and Magdi Abu Al Magd the head coach of the handball team.

Zamalek officials managed to persuade Al Ahmar to renew the team and stay next season to build a strong team competing for local and African championships.

Rehab Abu Rujaila said that Al Ahmar favored the renewal of Zamalek for many of the international offers he had recently received. Abu Rajaila also helped his team to get a number of deals in preparation for the new season.

The Zamalek player has been out of action since he was injured at the World Cup in January 2017, the injury that kept him out of action for six months, Al Ahmar led Zamalek to a historic four titles win last season, which is Africa's Champions League, Egypt Cup and Egyptian Professional League and African Champions League championships.
