CAIRO –31 July 2017: Spain defeated Denmark 39-38 on Sunday at the International Handball Federation (IHF) Junior World Cup final in Algeria after a tough game between both European sides.

Both teams entered the game with bad memories of the final, as Denmark had previously reached the final eight times, losing five of them, including the last edition against France. On the other hand, Spain played five finals previously and lost all of them.

The game started with both teams trying to gain the upper hand. The score was close between both teams, with the first half ending 18-16 for Spain.

The second half was a handball battle between both sides, as Denmark tried to stop Spanish attacks, but Spain won the game 39-38 at the end to achieve their first title in the competition.

Algeria hosted U-20 Handball Junior World Cup from July 18-30 for the first time in their history.
