CAIRO – 30 July 2017: Al-Ahly SC officials are considering doing some squad changes on July 29 in their back line during this transfer window.

After the transfer of Al-Ahly’s defender Ahmed Hegazy to West Bromwich Albion, Al-Ahly officials are interested in purchasing one of the following players: Ahmed Dowidar, Zamalek’s former player, Mahmoud Ezzat from Smouha SC or Mohamed Metwally, Ismaily’s defender.

The search for a defender is considered to be one of Al-Ahly’s priorities during this transfer window especially that Al-Ahly currently has three defenders in their squad where two of them are being used every match.

Al-Ahly is considering to loan their left back Sabri Raheel especially after purchasing Ayman Ashraf from Smouha SC. Loaning Sabri Raheel will be Al-Ahly’s only option in order to reduce the surplus amount of left backs they have. Al-Ahly now has four players including the newcomer Ashraf, along with Sabri Raheel, Hussein el-Sayed and Ali Maaloul.

Al-Ahly SC is entering an important phase in August having the semi-finals of the Arab Club Championship, semi-finals of the Egyptian Cup, and by the beginning of September they will play the quarter finals of the CAF Champions League.
