CAIRO –30 July 2017: The Egyptian Deaf-Mute team won 2-1 over Italy on the third place game on Saturday to win bronze medal in DeafOlympics 2017.

Mostafa Khalifa opened the score for the Egyptian team by amazing header in the 9th minute, Italy took less than 13 minute to equalize the score after Egyptian goalkeeper, Mahmoud Mekawi failed to clear the ball from the area to give Terranova Salvatore the opportunity to score Italian goal and this is how the first half ended.

The second half started with both teams tried to score the second goal but the draw continued till Hamada Yassein scored a late goal for Egyptian team after a great play between Egyptian players, Italy tried to score the equalizer in the remaining minutes, but Egyptian defenders stopped all Italian attempts to score.

Egypt won bronze medal after an amazing run in the tournament losing only two games in the whole tournament against the host nation. Turkey and Ukraine, both teams will face each other in the final on Sunday.

Turkey hosted DeafOlympics 2017 from July 18-30.
