CAIRO - 30 July 2017: Netherlands won 2-0 over Sweden on Saturday to reach 2017 Women’s EURO semi-finals for the second time in the history.

Both teams tried to score the first goal to have the upper hand in the game, Netherlands, the host nation, had a huge Dutch crowd to support.

Dutch team, who won all their games in the competition, controlled the game from the first moment and they had many chances to score till Barcelona new signing, Lieke Martens opened the score for the Dutch team in the 33 minute.

Sweden tried to equalize the score in the second half but the Arsenal new signing, Vivianne Miedema scored the second goal in the 64 minute to secure a spot in the semi-finals for the Dutch ladies.

Netherlands reached this stage once in 2009 in Finland, where they lost to England in the semi-finals.

The Dutch will wait till tomorrow to know their opponent in the semi-finals when France meets England.

Netherlands hosts 2017 Women’s EURO from July 16 to August 6.
