CAIRO – 29 July 2017 – The national women's volleyball team defeated Rwanda 3-1 on Friday for the 2017 Women’s African Nations Championship qualifiers.

The national team, led by head coach Hisham Al-Badrawi, beat Rwanda with 3 sets for Egypt and only one set for Rwanda in the first round of the African Zone 5 qualifiers for the 2017 Volleyball African Nations Championship held in Kenya. The results of the games were as follows: (25-18), (21-25), (25-23), (25-20).

The Egyptian team will face the national teams of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda in the Zone 5 qualifiers.

The team consists of 12 players, including Nahla Sameh, Rahma Hassan, Sara Amin, Duaa Ghobashi, Farida Al Asqalani, Shroq Fouad, Duaa Mohammed, Aya Al Shamy, Aya Khaled, Hedaya Mustafa, Nour Yassin and Maryem Mustafa.
