Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi meets his Bahraini counterpart, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi - Ministry of Youth and Sports
CAIRO – 5 September 2025: Egypt and Bahrain have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish the Bahraini-Egyptian Youth Council, marking a new chapter in youth cooperation between the two nations.
In a ceremony held in Cairo on Thursday, the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Bahraini Ministry of Youth Affairs formalized the agreement, which aims to create a joint platform to enhance youth collaboration, exchange experiences, and promote the values of youth diplomacy.
“The signing of this MoU to establish the Bahraini-Egyptian Youth Council reflects the deep-rooted and historic relations between Egypt and Bahrain,” Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi said in a speech.
He added that the agreement opens new avenues for youth cooperation and empowers young people to play their leading role in shaping the future.”
The joint youth council sets an institutional framework to strengthen collaboration between Egyptian and Bahraini youth through joint programs and initiatives and the exchange of delegations and expertise.
These include the exchange of delegations and expertise, collaborative projects, and the development of innovative initiatives that contribute to sustainable development, dialogue, and peace, aligning with the shared vision of both countries’ leaderships.
The council will launch its activities under a joint action plan that includes hosting annual youth forums, launching training and volunteer programs, and implementing pioneering projects in the fields of innovation and community development.
Under the joint action plan, youth of the two countries will exchange expertise and visits, enhancing their role as active partners in development and decision-making.
The agreement was signed after a visit by Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, to Cairo, to expand bilateral cooperation and discuss regional developments.
During the visit, the two countries signed several agreements and MoUs aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors, including investment collaboration, alongside strategic cooperation in exhibitions and conferences.
