CAIRO - 26 July 2017: Adam Peaty, British Swimmer, broke his own record in 50 breaststroke race during the qualifications; he ended the race in 26.10 seconds.

Adam petty, 22 years, broke his previous record of 26.42 seconds he achieved in 2015 World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

“I was quite relaxed. I wasn’t going out there this morning for a world record. Honestly. I was going out there just to qualify for the semis,” Peaty told reporters after breaking his record.

Peaty added, “It's 10 o'clock and I'm very happy with that swim. That world record is two years old, so it's due another push on, I was like ‘right, this is so, so easy – if I can turn off that I can definitely push it on for a 50."

Peaty is the 50m and 100m breaststroke World Record holder and he won 100m breaststroke Olympic Gold Medal in RIO 2016.

FINA World Championships held in Budapest, Hungary from July 14 to 30, 2017.
