CAIRO – 26 July 2017: Egypt’s Basketball Female Youth Team lost on July 25 in the third round preliminary stage in the Basketball Youth World Cup that is held in Italy.

Egypt lost from Spain with a score of 88/71 in the third match in the preliminary stage and is expected to play in the round of 16 on July 26 with the opponent still being undecided.

It is important to mention that Egypt mainly depends on the amazing performance of Miral Abdel Gawad, El-Shams Club player, who scored 46 points in the previous two games against Russia and Puerto Rico contributing in the team’s win over Puerto Rico.

USA is the favorites to be crowned as champions having won the title seven times including six consecutive titles; Soviet Union won the first two editions while Australia and Czech Republic won the title once.
