CAIRO –24 July 2017: The Egyptian national junior handball team defeated Qatar on Monday in the Men’s Junior Handball World Championship to achieve a difficult victory, the first for Egypt since the beginning of the tournament, which takes place in Algeria.

The match ended with the victory for the Egyptian team, with a close score of 30-29. The first half ended with the Qatari team winning 16-15; however, the young Pharaohs prevailed in the second half and made the difference, reaching four goals during most of the period before Qatar's awakening in the last 10 minutes.

This is the first victory for the Egyptian team in the group stage, which ensured the Pharaohs fifth place and the ability to compete in the classification matches, which determine the positions between 17 and 20.
