CAIRO – 23 July 2017: Emad Moteab, Al-Ahly SC striker, spoke on July 22 following Al-Ahly’s 1-0 loss against the Jordanian club Al-Faisaly in the Arab Club Championship.
Moteab spoke to Sada El Balad channel about an incident that happened during the match and about the treatment he receives at the club.

Moteab said to Sada El Balad, “I want to clarify some issues. There are people who want to make trouble with Al-Ahly fans and I; however, no one can interfere in my relationship with Al-Ahly fans.”

Moteab added to Sada El Balad, “I was warming up in order to participate in the match, then I saw Al-Ahly’s new striker Walid Azaro getting ready to play instead of me, which for me was a great shock. I do not mean to belittle Azaro, but normally if there is a substitution regarding the strikers I should be the first one to enter the pitch. So, that’s way I didn’t continue warming up and I went to sit back on the bench.”

Moteab continued talking to Sada El Balad, “Then around the 75th minute I was surprised when Haras, Al-Ahly’s worker in the changing room, came to me saying that Sayed Moawad, Al-Ahly assistant coach, is telling you to warm up. I told Haras that I am ready and I warmed up already.”

Moteab concluded to Sada El Balad saying, “I do not think while sitting on the bench that Haras should come and tell me to warm up. There is a coaching staff that is responsible for that. I never encountered that in my career. I think some people do not know who Emad Moteab is.”

Al-Ahly’s striker Moteab was known for his great goals in the past; however, after Hossam el-Badry was appointed as Al-Ahly’s coach, Moteab’s playtime decreased significantly.
