CAIRO – 23 July 2017: USA won Costa Rica 2-0 on Sunday July 23 morning in CONCACAF Gold Cup semi-final, and qualified to the final for the 10th time.

Both teams started the match trying to score the first goal to have the upper hand in the game, but no one scored a goal in the first half time.

Jozy Altidore opened the score for USA in minute 73 before the veteran Clint Dempsey secured the victory for USA with his second goal few minutes before the final whistle.

"Our second half was very good; certainly big goals by Altidore and Dempsey. As you can all notice, Clint made a difference when he came in the game; but when I thought of the night, we played pretty well and I was pleased with the overall performance." USA manager, Bruce Arena told reporters after the victory.

USA are waiting for the second semi final winner, which might be Mexico or Jamaica, to face at the final.

USA hosts 12 teams competing in CONCACAF Gold Cup from July 7-26.
