CAIRO - 23 July 2017: Usain Bolt, Jamaican sprinter, broke 10 seconeds in the 100m for the first time this season in the Diamond League competition in Monaco. Bolt won the competition in 9.95 seconds.

“It was good. I'm going in the right direction; still a lot of work to do," Bolt told reporters after winning.

Bolt, 30 years old, finished the race ahead of American sprinter Isiah Young and South African Akani Simbine.

Bolt talked about his decision to retire after this year, saying, "I'm always here for the fans, and of course I will miss the vibe around the track. Mixed emotions always. I am happy for my career, sad that it is ending. Sub 10 is always good. It was an exciting race, lots of energy."

Bolt is ready to compete in the World Championships in Athletics in London from August 4-13, 2017.

Usain Bolt has the 100m World Record with 9.57 seconds in Berlin 2009.
