CAIRO – 16 July 2017: Egyptians continue to strive in the African Championship for Weightlifting that is held in Mauritius after winning another 6 medals on July 16.

Shaima Khalaf managed to win 3 gold medals for weightlifting for 90 kilograms. She achieved a gold medal in her total score through lifting 275 kilograms. The other two medals were given to her for being the highest lifter in the clean and snatch phase.

Khalaf managed to previously get three medals for Egypt in the African Games of 2015, along with participating in the past Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Donia Barakat another Egyptian participant in the African Championship for Weightlifting won three gold medals for the weight of 90 kilograms.

Mohamed Ihab previously managed to lift a total of 348 kilograms, with 158 kilograms in snatch and 190 kilograms in the clean phase.

Egypt participates in this tournament with the following players: Mohamed Ihab, Ragab Abel Hay, Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Shaima Khalaf and Donia Barakat.
