Marcelo takes Ronaldo’s side

CAIRO – 16 July2017: Marcelo appeared in a press conference to talk about Real Madrid next season, and he also talked about Ronaldo’s crisis with the club.

"I haven't spoken to Ronaldo about this subject, but he knows his teammates are with him to the death. When he arrives, we can then talk about him and see how he is," Marcelo told reporters in the press conference.

Asked about the fight for left back position after the signing of Theo Hernandez, he said, "Ever since I arrived, I have had to fight and do everything to be able to play, even if there wasn't another left-back.”

Marcelo praised Theo Hernandez’s performance, saying, “Theo is very young, and he's going to help Real Madrid a lot; he has my total confidence and that of the coaches."

Marcelo, 29 years old, talked about Real Madrid’s ambition next season, saying, "My motivation is always the same, and I'll fight to the death with my team. We were able to win two titles last season, but we know we can improve.”

Marcelo has played for Real Madrid since 2007, winning three Champions League titles with the club in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
