CAIRO – 15 July 2017: Wadi Degla’s president Maged Samy posted comments on his official Facebook on Saturday about changes that needs to be made in order to improve the football in Egypt.

Maged Samy has been criticizing the Egyptian FA during this season due to lack of organization by the Egyptian FA while moderating the Egyptian League.

The statement read as follows: “ The only solution for next year:

With next year coming and the necessity to condense the matches in order to leave time for the Egyptian National team to prepare for the World Cup; we advise to you the following solutions:

1. The league should be between 18 teams and it should only be one league meaning only 17 weeks.

2. If we allow the fans to enter the stadiums, then the Egyptian FA needs to sell the tickets and distribute the tickets equally among all teams.

3. A competition should be made between the top 6 clubs which will decrease the amount of matches played from 34 matches to 27 matches.

4. A competition between the remaining teams will be made and we could make the winning team play against the winner of the cup and the winner would participate in the Confederation Cup.

This initiative would make the competition strong matches.

Ahmed Hossam Mido, Wadi Degla’s manager, criticized the Egyptian FA last week after being knocked out by Al Ahly in quarter finals of the Egyptian Cup. They lost in a final score of 4-1.
