CAIRO –15 July 2017: Real Madrid signed midfielder Dani Ceballos from Rael Betis on a six year contract, the club announced Friday.

“You cannot imagine the pride and responsibility I feel at having joined Real Madrid. I will give my all to make this club's history even greater,” Ceballos stated on social media after signing the contract.

He added “I will aim to show that I deserve to wear this shirt, Hala Madrid!"

Cabaellos, 20, has played for Real Betis since 2014. He played 24 games last season with Betis, scoring one goal according to whoscored.com.

Cabaellos paid tribute to Betis fans after leaving the club, saying, “I will always carry the Real Betis badge on my heart, I am truly grateful to all of the people in the Verdiblanco family for having developed me as a player and as a person,” according to Marca.com.

Cabaellos played for the Spanish youth national team in Under 21 European Championship, where he was the player of the tournament.
