CAIRO - 8 July 2022: Future FC players produced a historic night on Thursday at Cairo Stadium after lifting the club's first-ever trophy in their first season in the top division of Egyptian football.

Future put on a dominant performance against Ghazl El Mahalla to win the EPL Cup after a 5-1 win over the Delta giants.

"It is a historic night in the club's history. I have won 25 trophies with Al Ahly but winning a trophy for a promising club like Future is a different feeling." Saad Samir, Future captain, said after the game.

After 30 minutes of goalless draw, Karim Nedved opened the score for future with a beautiful header while Saad Samir doubled the score with a clinical shot that found its way to the back of the net.

El Mahalla pushed forward in the second half, leaving spaces in their defense for Future forwards who played a perfect counter-attacking game and managed to add three more goals from Ahmed Atif, Mohamed Farouk and Marwan Mohsen.

Future winger, Ahmed Refaat, was the best player on the pitch and guided his team to a complete dominance in the second half thanks to his speed, vision and ability to control the rhythm of the game.

El Mahalla scored their only goal in the final minute of the game from Yehia Hamed's unstoppable free kick.
