CAIRO –13 July 2017: The men's and women's U21 volleyball teams have qualified on Thursday for the second stage of the FIVB U21 Beach Volleyball World Cup in China.

The men’s youth team, represented by Omar Fayed and Ali Fayed, won 2-0 on Thursday in the third round of the first stage to qualify to the second stage as third of its group. The duo lost to Thailand 2-0 and China 2-0, while beating Hong Kong 2-0 as well, according to FIVB official website.

The women’s youth team is represented by Maya Ahmed and Marwa Abdel Hady Ali. They defeated Morocco 2-0 to qualify in third place after the Egyptian duo lost from Japan 2-0 and Paraguay 2-0.

Beach volleyball is a game consisting of two players in each team and played in the sand. The game was officially added to the Olympic Games in 1996 which took place in Atlanta, the United States.
