CAIRO – 13 July 2017: Mohamed Wahba, former Ismaily SC coach, rejoined the technical staff of Ismaily team on July 13 for the next season as an assistant to the French coach Sébastien Desabre.

Ismaily SC announced the signing of Desabre to be the new coach of the soccer team on July 10 via the club’s official Facebook page.

“Our job as staff is to create the best atmosphere for the new French coach to work and to lead the team in the next season,” Wahba told Egypt Today.

Wahba, 54, was the manager of Ismaily SC soccer team in 2013, after the sacking of Sabri el-Meniawy by former chairman Mohamed Abou el-Soud.

“We have an aim and new plan for the next season. Our aim is to put Ismaily SC in it’s normal place as a top team in Egypt, and our plan focuses on rebuilding the soccer team with young, talented players,” Desabre’s new assistant said to Egypt Today.

“Only 12 or 13 players will stay from the squad of last season. We need to sign other good players to start the pre-season camp with us,” Wahba concluded to Egypt Today.

Ismaily SC Chairman Ibrahim Osman decided not to release the crucial players in the team to any other clubs in Egypt.
